On this article I will concentrate on Neptune transit in Aries and the impact on the Democratic astrology chart, which last faced this transit during one of its most chaotic and defining periods. So, what can we expect this time around? Let’s dive in.

What Is Neptune in Aries?

Neptune is the planet of dreams, illusions, spirituality, creativity,  intuition and deception. It dissolves boundaries, blurs reality, and can create both inspiring visions and massive confusion. Aries, on the other hand, is all about action, leadership, and bold new beginnings.

When Neptune moves into Aries, it can express in different ways, but for sure will bring a deep identity transformation and a wakeup to new ideals that are closer to reality with a much practical approach.

Crisis is the vehicle to carry on deep transformations and even do is not something we are waiting for with excitement it sure is a necessary difficult period for our growth and evolution.

Now, let’s apply this to the Democratic Party.

The Last Time Neptune Was in Aries (1861–1875)

The Democratic Party of the mid-1800s was nothing like the party we know today. In fact, it was deeply divided between Northern and Southern factions, with the Southern Democrats supporting slavery. Neptune entered Aries in 1861, the same year the Civil War began. The party lost its grip on national politics as Abraham Lincoln, the first Republican president, took office. What followed was more than a decade of struggle, division, reinvention, and ideological confusion.

During this period:

  • The party lost every presidential election (1860, 1864, 1868, and 1872).
  • Reconstruction policies reshaped the nation, especially after the civil war, but Democrats resisted many of them, leading to long-term consequences.
  • The party struggled with its identity, shifting from a pro-slavery stance to something new—but without a clear direction.
  • By the end of Neptune in Aries, Democrats were beginning to rebrand themselves, but it took time before they became a dominant political force again.

What This Means for the Democratic Party Today

Fast-forward to 2025, and Neptune is entering Aries again. Just like before, the Democratic Party is facing a major identity crisis. Who does it represent? What does it truly stand for? Here’s what we can expect in the coming years:

  1. A Crisis of Leadership

Neptune in Aries can bring confusion about leadership. In the 1860s, Democrats had weak, divided leadership, and it cost them every major election. Will history repeat? We could see internal battles over the party’s direction, making it hard to rally behind a single, clear leader.

What we are witnessing today is a clear void in terms of leadership, having many voices from the democratic party expressing different ideologies, some radical left ideas, some more moderate, but in both instances is a lack of connection with reality, with the day-to-day challenges people are facing in general, and an absence of practical solutions and direction.

  1. Shifting Ideologies

Neptune blurs lines, and in Aries, it pushes new ideas aggressively, and at the same time creates more internal division. The Democratic Party may struggle to define itself. Are they the party of progressive change? Or are they moving toward a more centrist space? Internal conflicts will be unavoidable, and it will escalate more as Neptune transit starts making conjunctions with natal Pluto.

Neptune in transit through 1st house conjunctions with natal Pluto at 4 degrees of Aries:

  • June 2026
  • March 2027
  • October 2027
  • January 2028

These conjunctions due to Neptune retrograde motion will make what I call the iron effect. Like when you iron your shirt, you go back and forth with the iron, steam, heat, and you go over the same wrinkle until is gone, well same thing will happen as this transit progress for the Democratic Party, chaos, confusion, division, disillusion leading to a root transformation, a new Democratic party

  1. Struggles with Messaging

During the last Neptune in Aries transit, Democrats couldn’t unify their message, which led to electoral losses. Today, we might see the party struggle to communicate a clear, compelling vision to voters. Misinformation and political illusions could also play a big role.

Last presidential elections on November 5th, 2025, and the subsequent loss of the Democratic party brought to the spotlight the inability to relate a clear message addressing the issues and concerns of their voters.

After the elections some democrats are certainly doing an introspection exercise and a very in depth analysis of the real causes of the decline of the democratic party and the lack of support from voters, while others are still in complete denial of any internal or ideological issues concentrating their frustration on all the changes the new government is implementing.

The aggressive rhetoric against the current government, or current president will not solve their internal chaos. I think this is part of Neptune energy on his last degrees of Pisces, holding on to old structures, to the status quo that has being in place for decades.

A New Democratic Party Will Emerge Just like after the 1870s, the party will not look the same when this transit ends.

We may see new faces, new minds emerging more in tune with the transformation and reshaping of power structures that Pluto in Aquarius is making in our world. New leaders to carry on the values of the democratic party in the new world scenario and new social structure emerging with the plutonian energy and all the other planetary positions taking place between 2025 and 2026 that are reshaping the world as we know it.

Final Thoughts: Where Do We Go from Here?

As someone who studies astrology, I don’t see transits like these as purely good or bad. They’re opportunities for growth, transformation, and reinvention. The Democratic Party is going through a major test and, it will take years to overcome this difficult period.
